The Fernie Chamber has partnered with the Women's Enterprise Centre to bring you a three part HR Webinar Series to support local businesses learn how to find and keep great employees!

Recruiting is more than just finding workers to fill jobs. It's a thoughtful process of attracting, evaluating, and selecting candidates, so you hire someone who?s the ?right fit? for your business.

Each person and each business is unique, but there are some solid practices that help you find those ?unicorns? who have the right balance of knowledge, experience and personality ? and entice them to join your team!

Join us for an interactive workshop to ask your recruiting questions and learn:

  • How to write a job description that?s accurate, appealing and inclusive
  • Where to advertise so you have a strong pool of candidates
  • Tips to shortlist applicants and conduct interviews that will make your decision-making easier

About the Facilitator

Tanja Halsall provides consulting services to various local businesses through her consulting company Potentia Human Resources & Engagement Consulting and is also an Adjunct Professor with the Faculty of Management at UBC Okanagan. Tanja is a life-long learner. She holds a CPHR and SHRM-SCP designation, a Masters? Degree in Leadership, Post- Diploma in HR Management and initially began her commitment to learning while working towards her Bachelor of Education. Tanja draws on her 30 plus years of progressive management, operations, and strategic Human Resource experience to support local businesses in developing exceptional People, Culture and Leadership practices and in order to achieve exceptional results.
