Description
Come for lunch and conversation, stay to hear from local businesses and City officials about the opportunity and business case for electric vehicles and EV charging in Fernie. You’ll also be able to test drive an all-electric Ford F-150 truck.
There are many reasons why local businesses are incorporating electric vehicles and EV charging into their operations:
- Less uncertainty with fluctuating fuel prices
- Lower operating costs
- Availability of incentives & rebates
- Requests from customers/clients
- Meet business sustainability goals/values
- Meet growing demand from tourists (from a visitor in 2022: “Thank you Fernie for the charge up! [This charger] incentivized us to come to Fernie and allowed us to spend $$$ in your town in the past 3 days!”)
Join other local business owners, the Fernie Chamber of Commerce and Fernie-based electric mobility experts from Community Energy Association to learn about how (and why!) they incorporated EVs and EV charging into their operations and business plans.
The Lunch & Learn on February 15th will include presentations and Q&A with local business owners and an electrician followed by details about funding, and test drives.
Test drives start @ 1pm
Limited space is available to attend in-person, but we also welcome Chamber members to participate in presentations and Q&A session online via Zoom.
