2025 BEA - Judges Meeting
As we prepare for the annual Fernie Business Excellence Awards, we're excited to continue our successful approach of using local judges. This year's panels will once again consist of sponsors, past winners and community partners. We believe this balanced process ensures that nominees are fairly evaluated by a local panel. Below is a brief overview of the judging stages; more details are available on our website.
Stage 1 – Nomination Survey: Any business, organization or individual can be nominated by the public using the online survey. Closes August 24th so be sure to VOTE NOW
Stage 2 – Nominee Form: All businesses, organizations or individuals that were nominated will be asked to complete a short questionnaire.
Stage 3 – Panel of Local Judges: A panel of local judges will review the Nominee Forms to determine the finalists and winners. Each award will be judged by a different panel consisting of 4-5 people, with each panel evaluating 1-2 of the 9 awards. Participation in the judging process will remain anonymous.
As a valued sponsor, past winner, or community partner, I'm reaching out to invite you to participate as a judge for 1-2 of the awards. The judging process will take place between September 8 to 17. Your time commitment would involve reviewing the nominee forms (which have been further simplified this year ;) and then attending an in-person meeting with your panel of 3-4 judges to collectively determine the finalists and winners. The meeting should take no more than one hour.

Following everyone’s responses, you will be sent a calendar invite to hold the date and nomination materials for a pre-read will be sent a few days before the meeting.
